Join Us in Making a Difference: Support Our Documentary Project

Hey there, friends!

Today, I want to share a personal journey that has touched my heart and led me to embark on a special project. But before I dive into it, let me say that I couldn't be more grateful to have you here, reading these words.

Your support means the world to me, and I'm genuinely humbled to have you by my side.

So, let's get right into it. Last year, I had the privilege of reconnecting with an "old" client, and she opened up to me about her incredible story over the past two years. It all started during the first lockdown when she discovered a lump in her breast. Naturally, it scared her, so she wasted no time visiting a medical professional for guidance. To her relief, she was assured that it was nothing to worry about—a case of mastitis, they said. She was given medication to address the inflammation and continued with her life.

However, a few months later, she noticed a discolouration in the same area and a troubling dent. Her heart sank as she made her way back to the doctor, hoping for reassurance. Unfortunately, the news she received shattered her world. It was cancer—stage 4 breast cancer. The shockwaves of her story reverberated through me, and I couldn't help but share it with friends, clients, and anyone who would listen. Little did I know this issue was more common than I ever could have imagined. So many of my clients had experienced similar oversights by professionals who dismissed their concerns due to their young age.

These heart-wrenching stories lit a fire within me—a calling to do something more, something meaningful. I delved deep into research, and that's when I stumbled upon an incredible charity called Copper Feel, which focuses on supporting young individuals facing the worst. They informed me that this issue was even more prevalent than I had initially thought. This newfound knowledge gave me the extra push I needed. I decided to work on a documentary project to educate people and raise awareness about this critical issue.

But, of course, reaching a broader audience is a challenging feat. That's when I considered the power of streaming services. With millions of viewers at their disposal, they could be the perfect platform for our message. However, there was a significant hurdle—specific cameras were required for shooting and came with a hefty price tag. When I thought all hope was lost, I stumbled upon a fantastic opportunity. Netflix had recently launched a program supporting filmmakers in the UK, allowing them to submit their documentary ideas. Unfortunately, we missed the boat due to the overwhelming number of applicants. But let me tell you, giving up was never an option. I was determined to find a way to finance this project myself.

That's when fate stepped in, and I joined forces with a dear friend who is an incredible artist. Together, we came up with an idea to recreate some of my photos as paintings, which we could sell to raise funds. We even decided to offer personalized paintings as an option—a unique and heartfelt gift for anyone who wanted to support our cause. Little did I know marketing this initiative would be more challenging than anticipated?

We did manage to make a few sales, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to fund the documentary.

And now, my dear friends, this is where you come in. I'm reaching out to ask for your help, your support in any way you can offer it.

We've set up a platform on this page where you can donate through PayPal or even purchase one of these beautiful paintings. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make an incredible difference and bring us closer to our goal of creating a powerful documentary that can genuinely make an impact.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for joining me on this journey. Your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support mean everything to me.

Let's spread awareness, ignite conversations, and create a ripple effect that can touch the lives of those who need it most.
