Christmas boudoir gifts for him/her: an album they'll never forget

If you're stuck for boudoir gifts for this Christmas, a boudoir album might be the one. It's personal, it's private, and it's something no one else could ever give your partner.
The trick is timing. At London Boudoir by Adam Csomor, we recommend having your shoot 6 to 8 weeks before you need your album. If you're reading this in early November, that window is open now, but it closes in mid-November.
Here's how to plan it, keep it a secret and make the moment you hand it over feel special.
Why a boudoir album makes a lovely gift for him/her
Most presents get used up, worn out or forgotten. A beautiful album of you, photographed with care, tends to be kept for years.
It's also a gift that starts with you. You might book the shoot "for him", but the day itself is yours. Hair and makeup, a glass of wine, and a few hours of feeling looked after.
And the photos are tasteful. Intimate and sensual, yes, but never explicit. You decide how revealing it is.
When should I book a boudoir shoot for Christmas?
As a guide, book 6 to 8 weeks before you need your album. Count back from the day you want to give it, and that's roughly when your shoot should be. Christmas Day is a Friday this year, so aim for a shoot by about Friday 13 November. If that window has already slipped by, don't panic. We can sometimes manage last-minute requests, so it's always worth asking.
On the day, you'll choose your favourite images at the studio. Prints arrive in about 7 to 14 days after you order, so it pays to leave yourself a little breathing room.
Which boudoir gifts for him/her work best?
It depends on the person, and on where the gift will live. Here are the options our collections are built from:
A luxury boudoir album. Our fine art albums are the classic choice. Private, tactile and easy to tuck away.
A metallic wall print. Bold and striking, best for a bedroom wall that only the two of you see.
Prints. A few favourites, perhaps tucked into a card or a small box.
Digital downloads. Delivered through a password-protected link by email, for someone who likes everything on his phone.
Many people mix and match. An album for him, plus a few digital images to keep for themselves.
Photo collections start at £899, and the studio session fee is £395. You can see how it all fits together on our services and prices page.
How do I keep it a surprise?
This is the fun part, and it needs a little planning.
Book under your own email and number, so nothing pops up on a shared device.
Tell him you're having a pamper day. It's not even a fib: hair, makeup and lashes are included.
Have your digital link sent somewhere private, and avoid downloading images to a shared tablet or family photo stream.
If prints are coming to your home, plan when you'll be in to receive them.
Bringing a friend is fine too. She can help keep the secret and cheer you on.
Ways to give it on Christmas Day
Presentation makes a big difference. A few ideas that tend to land well:
Wrap the album last, so it's the final gift he opens.
Hand it over after the family has gone home, when it's just the two of you.
Write a short note inside the cover. It doesn't need to be clever, just honest.
Give it on Christmas Eve, with a glass of something, before the busy day starts.
However you give it, keep it private. This is one present to open away from the in-laws.
Questions people ask
What should I wear for a boudoir gift shoot?
Think about what he loves to see you in, then add what you feel great in. One of his shirts is a lovely choice. Our post on what to wear for your boudoir photoshoot has plenty of ideas.
Will anyone else see my photos?
No, not without your written permission. Your images are 100% private, and saying no to sharing is completely fine.
Can men book a boudoir shoot as a gift too?
Yes, men are very welcome at our studio. Sessions start from £395, so get in touch and we'll talk through the details.
